Can Lisbon be done in a weekend? With limited time, it's worth drafting an itinerary that balances the must-sees with the unexpected. This is a proposal — not a checklist.
Saturday — from the river to Graça
Start the day at Praça do Comércio and walk up to the Cathedral. Try a pastel in Belém (yes, there are alternatives to the most famous one). Late afternoon, head to a viewpoint: Senhora do Monte, Graça or Portas do Sol.
Sunday — Belém, LX Factory and a neighbourhood tavern
Jerónimos Monastery in the morning, casual lunch in Alcântara. In the afternoon, LX Factory for bookshops, art and coffee. Dinner at a neighbourhood tavern — ask for the dish of the day.
Getting around
- Tram 28 (yes, even with the tourists).
- On foot: the city is hilly, but the best discoveries are between stops.
- Uber/Bolt at night if the 24h train line doesn't work for you.
